time to introduce the youngsters
|
We cant win anything or qualify for europe this season, we should finish mid table, surely now is the time to test the likes of oxford, fletcher, quina, martinez , browne and others if they are up to it we will save 20 million on another overpriced import, if they are not up to it we can let them leave the club. For some it may be too early but surely worth giving them a chance.

Best crop of young players for a good while
Trott/Howes Burke Oxford Rice Samuelson Cullen Quina Fernandes Fletcher Martinez Browne
All talented. Quina looked mightily impressive in the last game I saw. Small but played centre mid and will pure silk. Touch, skill, vision, dribbling.

Paul Allen was making his 31st appearance of the season when playing in the cup final, in an extremely experienced side - Parkes, Bonds, Lampard, Brooking, Cross, Pearson Even the younger players were playing in their correct positions Stewart right back. Martin centre back, Pike central midfield, Devonshire on the left and Allen on the right. If you are going to blood kids it needs to be one or two at a time, in a settled team and playing in their correct positions. Sticking kids in to the current shambolic mess would be throwing them to the wolves

Friday was a good chance to give Oxford and Quina a run. No point bringing on senior players when the game is gone and there's no points or goal difference at stake.

Willtell- You don't win cup finals with Nordtviet, Callieri and Zaza either.
Probably not with Oggy either the shit that he's been serving up lately too.

It should be happening to a sensible degree all season every season, not turned on and off like a tap. Europe would have been such a great opportunity for that. Do more with the youngsters earlier, and they develop into more reliable options for the more pressured matches. As it stands now I can't see Bilic taking any risks with his job on the line.

Lertie Button says that our youngsters are Bang Average. I'd like to see them given a chance because at this point in time even Bang Average would be better up front and at RB, then the shite we've been served up week after week. We say we can't risk it but can we afford NOT to risk it? We're not that far away from a relegation battle as it is!
Maybe the two Reece's, Martinez and Burke aren't better but until we give them a couple of games, well never know. They surely can't be worse than Nordtviet or Antonio at RB or Callieri or Zaza up front?

Given how quick we are to judge the players, can you just imagine the slaggings off they'd get if they aren't on their game and seasoned pros in a matter of seconds?
When we're safe, play them. But not en masse like Fatty did. Bleed them in one at a time.

Fuck knows what's going on with byram, but we basically don't have a right back. I can't see any reason why Oxford or Fernandes shouldn't be tried there - they can't do any worse than what we've seen his season, and youngsters generally get the support of the crowd and when they do well, teallybgetbeveryone going.
Martinez should have been used up front off he bench by now too.

The time to introduce youngsters is in League Cup games or when we're 3-0 up in PLYMOUTH games, so they will just have to be patient. So will you.
